When Fandoms Align

John Finnemore - the comedy genius who writes (among other things) Cabin Pressure and who also portrays Arthur Shappey BRILLIANTLY - has a Blog called Forget What Did. (Careful of the Cabin Pressure tags if you haven't heard Zurich yet, I'm putting it off, myself. I don't want MJN to come to an end and am suspicious that it may have to.)

Anyway, I read the new post there today and then flicked through a few older posts using his tags.

And LO! He made two posts on poetry "Collaborations" where someone takes a line from a famous poet's poem and adds their own tag/couplet. Like Douglas and Carolyn riffing off Casabianca to mock Martin in Fitton: "The boy stood on the burning deck/ Whence all but he had fled./ His heart was in his mouth/ But lo! His hat was on his head." Or my Dad's version (this is the man who taught me "The Elephant Is A Graceful Bird" and the Rare-y Bird Joke, after all) "The boy stood on the burning deck/ Picking his nose like mad./ He rolled it into tiny balls/ And flicked them at his Dad!"

Anyway, a Commenter calling him/her/zir/ter/itself  "PJ" posted the following:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
And I have Semtex to secrete.

I, naturally, instantly thought of BODIE. :D
