Firstly - warning for language, throughout. You may not want to read this at work. :) Or if you don't like the f-word.

ushobwri - a brilliant comm - has announced that it is hosting its second annual Miserable Fucks November Social (aka MiFuNoSo).

The comm originally sprouted from a November Comm/Challenge Called "Write Something You Miserable Fuck" (aka WriSo), for people who tend to fail NaNo. So rather than a word count, all you have to pledge it at least ten minutes a day of pen to paper or fingers on keyboard.

In its ushobwri incarnation, however, while the minimum hoped for is still that ten minutes daily, the November Social is there to help and support comm members through whatever their November writing tasks or goals are, be that NaNo or prompt fills or whatever.

My goal is simple: quite apart from trying to meet my getyourwordsout Year End goal of 75,000 words, I just want to FINISH SOMETHING (longer than a comment-fic written in a single session). Ideally, I'd hit a half-NaNo of 25,000 words... but I'm not going to expect that.

In spite of at least two hospital/medical appointments in November (tomorrow's scans may lead to more appointments) I will be there and, whether or not you are already members of the comm, I hope some of my f'list may join up too. (The comm is members only, but its not on an invite/criteria basis.)

(theemdash - is there any chance of advertising this on getyourwordsout?)

Hiya :o)

Sleep not good, head therefore not good, so excuse anything dumb...

I tried my first very own attempt at a challenge in October - have other stuff I really want to apply fingers to keyboard for...so not really up for signing up for anything else.

But always here if you want to run ideas or any stuckness past :0)

Good luck with your intriguing NSFW challenge!

Re: Hiya :o)
If I wasn't clear, hon, MiFuNoSo it a supportive/social forum for whatever writing you want to do. That's the whole premise of the comm. If you are applying fingers to keyboard there are people there who will listen to you kvetch and offer cheerleading services.

*HUGS* for being sleep-deprived though. Hope you feel better.

Re: Hiya :o)

Learning more all the time :0)

Sleep deprived led to half day out of work. Functioning okay at the moment, but expecting crash anytime now, if normal patterns obtain.

Lot of the cotton wool gone though, so hopeful for tomorrow :0)

If someone types it up and puts it through the queue, I'll approve it. We've got a few Shoobies, so I'm happy to support them. (I just don't have time to add extra posts to my plate.)

I've asked the Shoobie mod-squad, and if they don't submit something, I will. Thanks. :)

Hunh - I just missed signing up for wrisomifu last year, and this year they say they're permanently closed. :-/

Though I've been able to keep up with mini_wrimo (and I'm good with today's allotment, aka The Return on Low Expectations), so maybe the November Social will work okay.

Hope the medical stuff goes as well as possible - you always have the Nov Social to help you get through it.

Thank you! Have fun! :)

Have you ever thought of writing a blog (or even a book) about your trails and tribulations? I know I sound like Ella to John Watson but if you have problems finding stuff to write about (or energy to do it) might not cataloguing what you are experiencing - not to moan but just to mark time as it were - allow you to ground things?

Ummmmm... what do you think this is, if it isn't a blog about my trials and tribulations?

It's not about not having stuff to write about - I have WiP files out the whazoo - it *is* about days when I'm able to write and the effects of a one month writing hiatus because of depression/pain etc on creative flow and the way I start to edit things before they are finished and they become never-ending.

Hi - I signed for wrisomifu and actually almost made the daily 10 minutes a couple of times *g*. Sorry that it's gone, but this one looks interesting - I should give it a go. Thanks!

Good luck! I really like the comm, hope you do too! :)

Good luck with the writing, and thank you for the reminder. I miss wrisomifu horribly. /o\
